John “Jack” Bixler is the Founder and Managing Principal of Spruce Financial Group. Jack oversees all investor relations, asset management, due diligence, underwriting, and operational aspects of the firm. Prior to Spruce, Jack was affiliated with an Atlanta-based investment banking firm that focused primarily on alternative lending where he worked sourcing, funding, and managing mezzanine and senior secured private business loans for roughly 4 years. Prior to this, Jack was a Financial Analyst in the Corporate Development department at Cotiviti, an Atlanta-based auditing firm which at the time served 21 of the top 25 U.S. healthcare insurance payers. During his tenure, he worked on the company’s largest post-IPO acquisition at that time, the purchase of Roadmap for $70M cash. Jack has experienced personally investing in alternatives and has led or been a participant in multiple private equity and direct partnerships. Between 2019 and 2020, he syndicated, stabilized, and ultimately sold a 52 home single-family rental portfolio located in Central Georgia using 94% debt financing with no negative cash flow. Jack is also the sponsor and asset manager of two student housing apartment communities consisting of 216 beds at Florida State University.
Jack attended Florida State University for an undergraduate degree before earning his M.B.A. at The Georgia Institute of Technology with a concentration in Quantitative and Computational Finance. Jack holds FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses. While not at work, Jack enjoys visiting the Gulf coast, fishing, diving, yard work, Florida State football, and playing golf. Jack is a native of Tallahassee Florida and resides currently in Brookhaven, Georgia with his wife and their dog, Charlie.
